Staying Cool
This is where you will find Parker most mornings. We play in the front yard/driveway in the mornings because that's where the shade is.

Parker's Prescriptions
Parker woke up this morning complaining that his ear hurt. He has never done this before and has only had one ear infection in his 27 months of life. Since we didn't catch his first ear infection before it ruptured, I immediately made an appointment with the pediatrician. No ear infection, but he got diagnosed with a cold and was put on breathing treatments and steroids. Our doctor never gives Parker medicine (he is very conservative with prescriptions), so I couldn't believe we walked away with all that! Parker really isn't feeling good, though. Above is a picture of all his medicines for the week: humidifier, nebulizer attachments and mask, albuterol, steroids, nebulizer machine and tubing, and the three toys that he left the doctor's office with...two trucks and an airplane.

Cooking with Mommy
Parker loves to help me do everything. Tonight he helped me in the kitchen by pouring and stirring the marinade for our fish.

Big Boy Bed
With little Ainsley joining our family in just two short months, we decided it was time to move Parker to his big boy bed. We wanted him to have plenty of time to adjust to his new room, "his" crib in another room, and give me enough time to recoup after sleepless nights with Parker before I have to face sleepless nights with Ainsley. Parker spent his first night in the twin bed Friday and did great! We told him the one rule he had to follow was that he was not allowed to get out of his bed without Mommy or Daddy. Since Friday night, I've only had to go into his room once in the middle of the night to help him find one of his pacis. When he needs something or when he wakes up in the mornings or from his naps, he stays in his bed and calls "Mommy" until I come to his room.
As far as the bedding goes, Jered wanted Parker to have the comforter he used when he was a little boy. The comforter is 25 years old and has held up great, and the sentimental value is priceless. I, however, bought another comforter that I just love. I still can't bring myself to return it because I'm holding out that Parker will get to use it one day. :) At this point, Parker doesn't even sleep under the comforter. He prefers to sleep on top of the comforter and use one of his blankies that he used in his crib. If that makes him happy, I am all about it! Here's to many, many more sleep-filled nights in the big boy bed!

Welcome Baby Williams
Jered's boss and his wife welcomed their baby girl into this world Thursday morning at 12:01 a.m. I had a chance to go by the hospital this morning and visit with the new dad as baby and mommy were sleeping. He did let me sneak in and take a picture of Baby Girl Williams before I left. They didn't find out what they were having, so we are still waiting on a name. :)

The Joy of New Toys
Every once in a while I hide/store some of Parker's toys so that we don't have too many sitting out and so that I can get "new" toys out at a later date that he has forgotten about. He thinks he's gotten a new toy, and I've saved a bunch of money! Today I got this toy back out, and Parker sat and played with it for a good 30 minutes. For those that know Parker, this is not normal behavior!

Up and Down the Hill
Tonight these two cousins rode their bikes up and down this hill at J-Pa and T-Ma's at least 30 times and had an absolute blast!

Made it to Corpus
We traveled down to Corpus this evening to celebrate our niece, Anna's, 3rd birthday this weekend. It was such a fun time getting to spend time with family, eat yummy food that I didn't have to make and watch Parker and Anna together.

Fun with T-Ma and the Toad
T-Ma stopped to stay at our house for the night on her way to East Texas, and Parker had so much fun playing with her. One of his favorite things was for T-Ma to carry him upside down to Daddy's chair.
Later in the evening, Jered and T-Ma found Parker a toad in the garden, and he had a great time chasing it around trying to catch it.

The Big 2-9!
Today is Jered's 29th birthday! We couldn't be more thankful for the amazing husband and father Jered is. We love you!!
Jered and Parker spent much of the afternoon watching Cars. I think Jered liked it as much as Parker, maybe even more!
Happy Birthday to you too, Judd!

Fourth of July
We had a wonderful Fourth of July! We drove down to College Station to see Judd's new place and then celebrated with the Glade Family. Michael always puts on a big fireworks show, and since this may be his last year to do it (because they may be annexed into the city by this time next year), we decided to go join in the festivities. The food, friends and fireworks were all great!

Life on the Farm
When I found out Beth, one of my dear friends from high school, was coming in town the weekend of July 4th for her husband to work, I was so excited. Beth informed me yesterday that our plan wasn't going to work out and she had to stay home. We were bummed, so we made a slight change in plans. Instead of Beth coming to our house today, Parker and I drove to visit her and Jackson (20 months old).
After the boys had some good backyard fun, it was time to feed all animals. This may not sound like a big deal, but Beth's family is complete with many sheep, chickens, a horse and a goat. Not a shock at all, but this was Parker's favorite part of our time there!

Here Goes Nothin'
Literally, here goes nothing. Parker has started showing a very slight interest in potty training the past few days by telling me right after he poops in his diaper. We even run to the toilet sometimes after his business is taken care of, so I thought it was time for Parker to have his own potty. He has yet to actually do anything in it, but he sure does like sitting on it and lifting and closing the seat.
