Popping Daddy's Back

Tonight Parker decided he was going to help Daddy pop his back by walking (or really) jumping on it.

Helping with Laundry

Parker is always such a good helper when I am doing any kind of cleaning. He loves sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and loading and unloading the washer and dryer. Here is he taking a break from the laundry and relaxing on our comforter.

Pony and Petting Zoo Party

This afternoon we got to attend such a fun birthday party. In honor of Townlin turning 2, she had a pony and petting zoo party. All the kiddos loved the goats, rabbits, ducks, chickens, gerbils and the hot pink pony.

Sic 'em Bears

This is Parker in the middle of trying to do his "Sic 'em Bears" paw as we were rooting on the Lady Bears basketball team in the NCAA tournament. Unfortunately, we came up a little short.

Hauling Pacis

Instead of the farm animals that belong on his tractor, this is what Parker came hauling out of his room today.

Is it Really Illegal...

Rain, Rain Go Away

We got to spend an hour or so outside today before the rain came. How pitiful does Parker look watching the rain out the window! He wanted to get back outside so bad.

Visit to the Doctor

So Parker's had a little bit of a cough lately, and I haven't thought much about it because he hasn't really had any other symptoms. I figured it was just drool drainage from teething. Well, I picked him up from MDO yesterday and his teachers told me he had a terrible cough at naptime. So bad that he woke himself, and the rest of the class, up during naptime. Uh-oh! When we got home I noticed that his cough had gotten significantly worse and made a call to the doctor. We got an appointment around 5 p.m. and got the diagnosis: cold. Ugh! No treatment, no medicine, nothing. I mean, I am glad it is nothing worse, but I hate going to the doctor for no reason. There's 30 bucks down the drain!

Mater

Parker's most recent favorite read is "Mater's Best Friend," a short book adapted from the movie, Cars. Granny got it for him this past Christmas, and lately he has been completely obsessed with it. He even sleeps with this book. If you lay him down and he doesn't have the book, he repeatedly begins saying, "Mater, Mater" until you get him the book. He has almost every word memorized and will fill in the blanks for us when we stop to see if he knows the next word. It's really pretty funny.

Getting the Garden Ready

Jered is getting ready to plant our garden (once the sprinkler line that was tilled gets repaired...long story, but the sprinkler man marked the wrong spots for the sprinkler lines). Anyway, today we were helping get rocks out of the soil. Please excuse Parker's short shorts. Daddy got him dressed after his nap and grabbed some shorts off of Parker's shelf that were in the "put in storage" pile. They are size 12 months! Still fit in the waist, but a little too short!

Boating with Daddy

Today we took advantage of the beautiful weather and headed out to a friend's land. Jered and Parker took the boat out on the pond, we rode around on the four-wheeler and checked out the recent brush fire damage, spotted a few llamas, and did a little fishing. Parker loved his new life jacket and paddling the boat.

Lovin' His Family

As I was getting ready this morning to take Parker to our open gym playtime, he was all of the sudden missing from my room and very quiet. I peeked around the corner into the living room and found him sitting in Daddy's chair reading and talking to all the pictures in his Family Book.

Elfants, Elfants

Today was our second trip to the zoo this week and Parker's favorite animals were the elephants (or elfants as he calls them) and the tigers.

Flowers in Bloom

This morning as we were enjoying the nice weather outside, Parker took a few minutes to stop and smell the roses that have begun to bloom.

There's Nothing Like Cousins

We had a wonderful visit from Jody and Anna today. They came into town with T-Ma tonight and will be leaving to go visit more family in the morning. T-Ma gets to stay for another day! These sweet cousins had lots of fun the short time they got to spend together. In the picture above, they were getting ready for Jered to take them on a ride in the bike trailer. Jered said they held hands the entire time.

After getting in their pj's, these crazy kids danced all their remaining energy away. They had a blast!

Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk

A few weeks ago it was an entire bag of goldfish, this morning it was a full cup of milk. Parker was standing on his stool helping me make some brownies this morning when he dropped his sippy cup of milk. That wasn't the problem. When he picked his cup up to begin drinking again, the lid had evidently come loose from the drop, and this is what happened. Milk all over the floors, cabinets and oven. What can you do? After a very loud gasp, I grabbed my camera and proceeded to clean up the sticky mess.

If the Shoe Fits, Wear it

On any given day, this is what you can find Parker wearing around the house. He loves wearing my shoes, and sometimes Daddy's shoes, too. The choices usually range from my flip-flops to my heels. Thankfully, I snapped this picture of him in just some regular old tennis shoes.

Craft Day

Since the weather has been so cold and rainy, I had to find something to keep us entertained. Today we made a book full of family pictures. I did most of the work, but Parker loves looking through the book and telling me who everyone is.

Holding Hands

So just yesterday I did a post about the warmer shorts weather, and today it is cold and rainy. On Daddy's morning off, he and Parker held hands {for a little while} and watched an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

Must be Shorts Weather

With the warmer weather, Parker has been wearing shorts a lot. On a good day, this is what his legs look like about half the year. He loves pointing out all of his boo-boos!

Fun on the Hill

Jered, Parker and I made a quick weekend trip to Longview today to visit my family. Parker couldn't wait to get in Grandma and Papa's back yard and run up and down the hill!

Already Time for Another Haircut

Today I took Parker for a long overdue haircut. I was extremely worried about how the haircut would go and if we would even leave the salon with a haircut. Let me remind you that last time we took Parker to get his haircut we left with nothing cut. This time I was a little smarter and took him to a kid's salon where he got to sit in a truck during the cut. He did so, so great!! I couldn't have been happier with how it all went. Parker did well and the girl that cut his hair was super quick...we were in and out in less than 15 minutes. Guess you'll have to wait until tomorrow to see the new 'do!

Early Playdate

Early this morning, Creighton came over to play while his Mommy went to the doctor. The boys had lots of fun and played well together...until the end. They looked out the window for the cat, swept, built with blocks, watched a few movies, rode on cars and in wagons, and much, much more. All was well until right before Creighton left and he and Parker had a scream-and-cry-as-loud-as-you-can tiff over a tractor. I wish I could have grabbed my camera in time because Kimberly and I could only laugh at them because it was so ridiculous. All in all, we had such a fun morning. These two boys get to do it all over again Wednesday morning when Parker goes to play at Creighton's while I go to the doctor.

Looking out the window for Squibb

Since it was too cold to go outside, I finally let the cat in so the boys could play with him. I know how much Creighton loves that cat! They wanted to watch him eat, so we fed him a little food. Here Parker is being a little sneaky and trying to get Creighton to eat a piece of cat food. Creighton is obviously not having it!

Piece of Artwork

Much to my surprise, when we picked Parker up from the church nursery today he had created a picture. By the time we got home, he had already ripped all the foam stars off.
